Inheriting a maternal love for literature and a paternal love for business, my Hull childhood was filled with fantastical fictional adventures and yellowing Economists. I went to Oxford to read History and German. Determined to be cultured, I poured over German philosophy and acted in obscure plays. On graduating, I worked for an international literary agency in London, and then ran a boutique education consultancy. Following a move to Berlin in 2010 and the birth of our twins, I have combined motherhood with blogging, running, freelance writing and setting up a business.
